This is a picture that should be seen big. It’s Afghanistan’s first National Park at Band-e Amir in Bamiyan Province. A series of natural dams have created six lakes surrounded by sheer cliffs, at around 3000 metres above sea level, in the heart of the Hindu Kush. Visiting and swimming in the ice-cold water is one of the best perks of my job.
